How to Extract Text from a PDF Without Uploading
Pull embedded PDF text into a .txt file locally, and know when to switch to OCR for scans.
Sometimes you need the words, not the layout: a quote for notes, a quick accessibility check, or text to paste elsewhere. Upload extractors copy the whole PDF to do a job your browser can already do.
Extract Text reads text already embedded in the PDF and shows it in an editable area you can copy or download as .txt. Nothing is sent for that extraction step.
Empty result usually means a scan. Switch to OCR PDF for image-only pages. If you need a short on-page correction instead of a text export, use Edit PDF Text.
Extract Text does not reflow or redesign the document. It gives you the text layer that is already there.
