What this tool does
Split PDF turns one PDF into smaller documents without uploading the original file. Choose page ranges when you know the exact pages you need, Every page when each page should become its own document, or Every N pages to divide a long file into equal-size chunks. When there is more than one output, the tool packages the results in a ZIP download so they stay together. Page numbering starts at 1, matching the page number shown in a PDF reader. This is useful for pulling signature pages from a contract, separating chapters in a scanned book, or dividing a large packet into upload-friendly parts. The tool creates copies of the pages you choose; it does not edit the original PDF. If you would rather choose pages visually from thumbnails, use Extract Pages. If your task is to remove unwanted pages and keep the rest as one document, use Delete Pages instead.
How to use it
- Upload one PDF that you own or are allowed to edit. For password-protected files, unlock the PDF first using the correct password and permission.
- Choose Page ranges to enter selections such as 1-3, 5, 7-9; choose Every page to create one PDF per page; or choose Every N pages to create fixed-size chunks.
- For Page ranges, enter page numbers beginning at 1 and separate ranges with commas. For Every N pages, enter the number of pages each output file should contain.
- Check the selection carefully before processing. Ranges can be non-contiguous, so a list such as 1-2, 5 produces a document from those selected pages.
- Click Split PDF. The operation runs in your browser and starts a ZIP download when several PDF files are created.
- Open the ZIP and review a result before sharing it. Merge PDF can put pieces back together later if you need a different packet.

- What does Every N pages do?
- It splits the PDF into chunks of N pages each (the last chunk may be shorter). For example, N=2 on a 5-page file yields pages 1–2, 3–4, and 5.
- Will I receive a ZIP file?
- Yes, when splitting creates multiple PDFs. A ZIP keeps all the results together in one download. A single selected range may download as one PDF.
- Does splitting change the original PDF?
- No. The tool creates new PDF files from the selected pages. Your original file remains unchanged on your device.
