How to Unlock a PDF You Own in Your Browser

Remove a known password from a PDF you are authorized to edit, then merge or edit the unprotected copy locally.

Password protection is useful until you need to merge, edit, or archive a file you already control. Unlocking should not mean uploading that protected document to a random site.

Unlock PDF opens the file when you enter the correct password and writes an unprotected copy. Use it only on PDFs you own or are allowed to modify. It does not crack unknown passwords.

After unlock, Merge PDF or other edits become straightforward. When you are done, Encrypt PDF can put a password back on the finished packet.

Share passwords out of band, and keep the unlocked copy only as long as you need it.
